Cakes, yummy playdough, or whatever you want it to be :)

Marshmallow Fondant!!!

This is my secret to wonderful cake making and it isn't gross like most fondant! It's messy and fun to make, and a easy, cheap, and edible playdough! I can't complain!

Mold it, shape it, eat it.........it's very forgiving!

Have fun!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 pounds confectioners' sugar, divided
  1. Place the butter in a shallow bowl, and set aside.
  2. Place the marshmallows in a large microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on High for 30 seconds to 1 minute to start melting the marshmallows. Carefully stir the water and vanilla extract into the hot marshmallows, and stir until the mixture is smooth. Slowly beat in the confectioners' sugar, a cup at a time, until you have a sticky dough. Reserve 1 cup of powdered sugar for kneading. The dough will be very stiff.
  3. Rub your hands thoroughly with butter, and begin kneading the sticky dough. As you knead, the dough will become workable and pliable. Turn the dough out onto a working surface dusted with confectioners' sugar and continue kneading until the fondant is smooth and no longer sticky to the touch, 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Form the fondant into a ball, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. To use, allow the fondant to come to room temperature, and roll it out onto a flat surface dusted with confectioners' sugar.

Do you fight the horrible arm pit stains on your hubby's shirts???

Here is a new trick.....

Aspirin....yes Aspirin is the trick.

You can either

A: Soak the items in dissolved aspirin or make a past out of the aspirin and spread it over the stain and let it sit. Then wash as you normally would. How to make the paste......grind the aspirin up fine and add a small amount of water to make a somewhat thick paste. Use a butter knife to spread the past over the stain. It works and the good thing....aspirin is super cheap and doesn't leave an odor like white vinegar!

B: Toss a few aspirins in your loads of whites along with how you normally wash them (detergent, softener) and it even helps with nasty sock stains. :)

We have been doing this for quite a while now and I do notice a big difference!

Wahooo....

After much thought and A LOT of persuasion from numerous mommas. I will be keeping this blog for FUN.....girly FUN!

I hope that I can inspire the crafty side in all of you, share yummy recipes that your kids will love, crafts to share with your wee ones, and some projects for yourself! Maybe I will throw in a few housekeeping tips (I am not so knowledgeable in this area)! But I would also love to share some good 'ole wholesome scripture and mommy stories to make it even more fun! :)

I would love for you guys to share in with this. If you have any good ideas or projects or even some fun mommy stories please leave a comment. I always love trying new things and love getting a good laugh:)
